Weekly Recrap

NoraHappy Memorial Day, everyone. Mitchell and were remiss in our Recrapping duties again last week, but we have good excuses, we swear. Well, Mitchell does, anyway. His company, LogicMaze, just launched their new site way out there in Kansas. Do tell us more about it, Mitchell.

MitchellIt's pretty sweet. We've got it set up so anybody in Hutchinson can post about whatever is most important to them. We'll also discuss what's going on, but with the angle of trying to make things better, rather than just bitch about them like a lot of other people do. Although it's not going to appeal unless you're from Hutchinson, you should go check it out sometime. It's whatsuphutch.com. It's another thing I have to write for, so it's part of the reason I haven't been able to post on here as much as I'd like.

What's new with you, Nora? I heard you made a new friend.

NoraYeah, I've been picking up and befriending random strangers again. It's kind of what I do. This time it's a nice girl around my age with a daughter Kenny's age. We met at a new coffee shop that opened down the street from my house. It actually ended up being awesome. I went in to check out the new place, found out they have my favorite kind of Italian espresso. Corie, the owner, is totally cool, and code name Big C's daughter Little C and Kenny totally took a shine to each other. So, now we're doing Tuesday coffee and lunch with the babies. Little C is teaching Kenny some sign language and Kenny's teaching Little C how to pick her nose. It's precious.

In other news, it's officially summer, but you wouldn't know it from the last few weeks. I've just been trying to keep my extremities from getting frostbitten. This is the first weekend it's been above sixty degrees since, I don't know. Last August? Did you do anything cool for the weekend, Mitchell? Or were you too busy ducking and covering, trying to avoid the tornadoes?

MitchellThat's really it. The weather has gotten crazy every night this weekend with winds that'll take your head off. As we speak, there's a giant storm rolling through. It's a trip. Here's to hoping I don't get sucked away and that the residuals headed up your way aren't too bad, Nora.

NoraThanks for the warning, Mitchell. You kick Jerry Taft's ass when it comes to giving me the heads up with the weather. Oh, and good luck with What's Up, Hutch? It's a really cool site and I'm sure all of you at LogicMaze are having fun with it. As for me, stay tuned for more random stranger pick-ups. I'm sure one of these days there will be a real story in one of them. Thanks for Recrapping with us, everyone--see you next time!

Nora, where's the coffee shop at? In Tinley?

River, it's on 167th in the same plaza as the ACE and across from the Walgreens. Corie makes badass samiches, too.

That's what I've been doing wrong. I've been punching random strangers not befriending them.
